"That's Amore" Dinner & Auction Fundraiser for the Museum of Chincoteague Island. November 1st Doors open at 5:00PM
We will start off the evening at the CVFC Firehouse banquet room with an oyster shucking station courtesy of Tom's Cove Aquafarm. While enjoying world famous Chincoteague oysters, check out the silent auction table with collectible and unique treasures. There will be an opportunity to bid on these items until the live auction begins. Additionally, we will have two items being raffled off at the end of the evening. Tickets will be sold for a beautiful decoy created and donated by Roe Terry
and an antique carved horse brought to the United States as a gift from the Japanese government seventy years ago.
Next, we will sit down to enjoy a fantastic Italain dinner expertly prepared. Salad, Bread, Coffee & Tea for everyone and there will be three options to choose from for your entree:
Chicken Parmesan with Pasta
Shrimp Scampi with Pasta
Fettuccini with Broccoli and Alfredo Sauce
(There will also be a cash bar available)
You will be contacted after your ticket order to collect your meal selection.
We will be served homemade cannoli for dessert. So decadent!
After a satifying dinner, we will be joined by local auctioneer, Chester Jackson for what will be a lively auction full of spectatular items including a not to be missed Carousel Horse from the original Chincoteague Firemen's Carnival. This unique item has been in the Daisey family home on Chincoteague for many many decades after it was removed from the carnival. The original carousel was purchased and installed when the carnival was held in the downtown behind what is now the Island Theater in the 1920's. The carousel was moved to the new carnival grounds at the "Chincoteague Inn" location in the 1930's. At this point, the carousel was to be replaced and the horses were given away. This horse found its new home with the Daisey family.
This and many other exciting offerings will certainly make for an entertaining evening. Tickets will be available until sold out. Thank you for supporting the Museum of Chincoteague Island and the Beebe Ranch. In doing so, you support the museum's mission to preserve and protect our island's rich history.
This event is sponsored in part by our friends at Boggs Water & Sewage
