Wine pros toss around words like "corked" and "mousey"—but what do these terms really mean? When should a bottle get dumped down the drain? Is a flawed wine ever salvageable? And how does the natural wine world's tolerance of certain flaws help communicate a sensory understanding of a different approach to winemaking?

In this class, we'll taste through 3 examples of flawed wines, exploring the science and sensory experience behind common flaws. Attendees will leave the class with a better understanding of how flaws express in the glass, what causes them, and when a wine is officially kaput. We'll also dive into the ways in which the natural wine world specifically interfaces with flaws, and how that approach contributes to its often hot-button status in the world of wine.

This is a one-hour class hosted at Wild Child's new location at 30 Bow Street in Somerville (around the corner from our old space).
