This will be a bitter-sweet market. It will not only mark the last of our Backyard Markets for 2025, but we have also decided to decommission our large garden south of Indian Head. Firstly, we want to express how immensely grateful we are to each and every one of you. It's been such a gift to us to receive your excitement and support of this project. We never thought it would have the impact that it did when we started in 2020.
Back then, during those Covid years, it was a balm for our souls to be able to have something to do - a way to connect with the land and with others.
From the very start, we've been holding in our hearts the possibility of moving to the country. We love being out in nature and growing food. We imagined that we'd have clarity on that by this point, but it has not felt like the right move for us (not yet, anyhow...).
The back and forth between Regina and Indian Head is really wearing on us. This was part of the reason we took a break from the garden last year. But we missed it so much that we thought we'd give it another go in 2025!
However, this season has taught us with deep clarity that this "in-between" is no longer where we're called to be. We want to garden where our home is, and at the moment that's in Regina.
So what does this mean for Viridity Garden? We're not yet sure. We know we need to let go of this current form to make space for the next step. Perhaps we'll expand our home garden and have surplus to share. Perhaps we will make the leap to a country home and have even more produce to share with you all some day.
But ultimately, we just want you all to know how immensely grateful we are to each and every one of you. We'd love to connect with you at the market on Oct. 2 for one final market! Much love to you all!!
