Join us for a book talk with Editors Emily Grafton and David B. MacDonald on their new collection, On Settler Colonialism in Canada: Lands and Peoples, which brings together some of Canada’s foremost thinkers and storytellers including Solomon Ratt, James Daschuk, Desmond McAllister, Michelle Stewart and Chris Lindgren who will discuss their contributions to the book. The editors and contributors will be appearing at the University of Regina’s Dr. John Archer Library & Archives (Regina and Wascana Rooms) on Thursday, October 2nd at 12PM. Moderator Merelda Fiddler-Potter will lead a conversation about Settler Colonialism—how settlers understood themselves as servants of empire, how settler identities came to be predicated on racialization and white supremacy, and more recently, how they have been constructed in relation to multiculturalism.
After the book talk ends, refreshments will be served and books will be available for sale. The editors will be pleased to sign copies. Don't miss out on what promises to be a lively discussion!
*Please note that smudging will take place at this event.
