Every year, on the day before Thanksgiving, Modesto Gospel Mission hosts a traditional Thanksgiving meal for more than 1,000 men, women, and children. Along with the meal, each guest receives free winter essentials like coats, sweaters, hats, gloves, and scarves. Many attendees are from Modesto’s nearby airport district, one of the city’s most underserved areas.
