Explore the fun of texture painting! In this calming, hands-on workshop, students will explore the art of textured painting with my own special recipe of modeling paste—using palette knives, brushes, and other tools to layer, blend, and sculpt paint into soothing patterns and forms.
After a demonstration of techniques each student will spend the rest of class completing a painting. Choose any design that speaks to you… from flowers to modern abstracts. Paintings will be finished in all white, which helps us focus on composition, design and technique. Color can be added at home after it dries completely and I’ll share different methods to achieve stunning results. Everyone leaves with a finished canvas that’s both a work of art and a reminder of the restorative power of slowing down.

Registration includes admission to the beautiful gardens before or after class.

About the Instructor:Sonja has had a lifelong passion for creating art and loves experimenting and exploring a variety of different mediums. Her successful artistic career began as a graphic designer in the 90s. Jewelry making and metalsmithing followed in 2004, with the first of many juried art shows and awards. She loves sharing the creative journey with others through group classes and individual tutoring. Participants must withdraw from classes at least 5 days prior to the start of class in order to receive a full refund or credit. If we must cancel a class, we will make every effort to inform you prior to the class time, and you will receive a full refund or credit. Only those registered for the class will be permitted in the classroom. Childcare services are not provided.
