Textile Journey Festival - August Craft Month 2024

The festival will be a celebration of creativity and all things wool, and textile.

It includes a variety of events : demonstrations, open studios & workshops.

The festival is an invitation to everyone: try making or explore textiles.

Lets connect to each other.

We have demonstrations from some of the most loved Irish textile artists: Cosima Malloy, Niki Collier and Eithne Carey. Come and enjoy the showcase of their skills.

We would have materials and tools exchange - swap bits from your stash and explore materials, tools and techniques that they have never tried before.

In our tradition we would have a sharing panel - an art installation made by the facilitators which would encourage every passer-by to participate in new artistic engagement.

Knitting & Spinning with Imelda Quinlan and Cosima Malloy

2pm – 5pm Friday 2nd Aug

Embroidery with Eithne Carey and a secret superstar who shall be revealed on the day.

2pm – 5pm Saturday 3rd Aug

Felting with Niki Collier come and discover making of hidden treasures in felt.

2pm – 5pm Sunday 4th Aug

Interactive textile making with Niki Collier, Cosima Malloy, Rachel McKinney & Sarah Ross.

Open Studio Saturday

10am -2pm 3rd August

Niki Collier Open Studio Day- come and discover the womancave home to 50 scissors, 100kg of wool and 100 meters of silk.
