June 14, 2025 “FLEECE SHOW & PRACTICAL USES OF FIBER”

9-4 pm: We start off the day with a proper fleece show ( https://texasfibergathering.com/fleece-show ) and give students a hands-on experience learning what makes one fleece better than another. Whether you produce or purchase, knowing what you are getting is important. Our school project will be to use the wool we worked on the weekend before to match the project with the fiber type. We will explore spinning, weaving and the fundamentals of felting.
June 21, 2025 “ECO AND EARTH FRIENDLY”
with Leslie Amick, Jenn Nimmrichter and Others!
9-4 pm: Let’s elevate our experience now. We have gone from sheep to show, fleece to project...now let’s get dirty with Eco and Natural effects. We have a special guest teacher who will help us explore the “eco” side of the “soil to soil” concept. We will keep the vats going all day. We will have little projects in between to keep your idea board full up this Summer!
June 28, 2025 “FARM ARTS AND FARM STANDS”
with Taryn Kail, Andrea Rummel and Jenn Nimmrichter
9-4 pm: Last Saturday is a culmination of what we have learned, where we have been and what’s next for our fiber arts and farming industry. This is a great day for the budding homesteaders and practicing artists to gather and create a fabulous fourth Camp Day. Fiber will be at the ready and looms warped. Needles and hooks will be in position for those who want to try their hands at “knitwear” arts. Let’s just say that it will be a fiber arts free for all!
