In early November of 1985, a devastating flood struck Botetourt and Roanoke, leaving behind unprecedented destruction and loss of life. Forty years later we remember that disaster, and look to another — the catastrophic flooding that recently hit Kerrville, Texas, home of the internationally known Kerrville Folk Festival.On Saturday, October 25, 2025, The Historic Buchanan Theatre hosts "Two Floods, 40 Years, One Song" — a benefit concert and anniversary commemoration.
An intimate concert setting featuring modern folk, acoustic country, and roots-based songwriting. A one-of-a-kind evening of original music performed by nationally recognized touring artists alongside distinguished local singer-songwriters.
Headliners:
Wes Collins — Acclaimed songwriter and recording artist. Winner of the Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk Competition and a North Carolina Arts Council Songwriting Fellowship. Finalist in Telluride, Serenade, and Wildflower contests. Tours nationally.
Andrew Delaney — Award-winning songwriter and recording artist. Grand prize winner at the Songwriter Serenade (TX) and Acorn Theater (MI) competitions. Three-time Kerrville New Folk finalist and Dallas Songwriter contest honoree. Celebrated for his inventive, hilarious storytelling and heartfelt craft. Tours nationally.
Also featuring standout local songwriters: Rob Fraim, Gary Marchesano, and Marie-Claire Evans
