Terrarium Building Workshop- Create with Cypress Grove Exotics!
About this Event
Enjoy a fun evening in the Garden Room of Sunken Gardens with botanist Brett Cypress, owner of Cypress Grove Exotics, where you will transform candle jars into living plant terrariums! Every attendee will have access to all supplies with a variety of options & will get to personally create their own living plant terrarium that they will get to take home with them.
This workshop is perfect for people of all experience levels- whether you just appreciate pretty plants or are a fellow botanist, everyone who attends is guaranteed to leave with a custom-made terrarium that they create themselves through an informative, hands-on teaching workshop.
All are welcome to come make a terrarium for yourself or as a gift for a loved one, see how upcycling opportunities are endless, or just have a fun night out. This is an enjoyable evening event you are sure to love!
*Exciting Extra Perk- Purchase of a ticket for this workshop includes exclusive access to Sunken Gardens after closing, before the workshop begins. [Exclusive garden access is 4:30-5:30pm. Animals will not be on view during this time.]

Brett Cypress is a Botanist, Horticulturist & Owner of a local plant business, Cypress Grove Exotics, which specializes in Mounted Plant Plaques, Custom Terrariums & Exotic Plant Specimens.
Brett has been teaching botanical lectures & workshops for years in the topics of Introduction to Houseplants, Specialized Plant Adaptations, Advanced Propagation, Epiphyte Mounting, and Introduction to Bonsai.
His horticultural prowess has been executed on one of the largest stages across the country by providing specimen plants and assisting in a display at the 2023 Philadelphia Flower Show which won Best in Show with a score of 98/100 and was awarded the Governor’s Trophy.
Brett is thrilled to be bringing his expertise & enthusiasm to Sunken Gardens & the St. Petersburg area at large!
