About this Event
Housing Policy in a Time of Federal Change: How State and Local Governments are Responding
In the last year, we've seen substantial policy changes at the federal level related to housing. Federal tax policy changes are poised to spur significant construction of new affordable homes, while cuts to federal benefits programs will compound affordability challenges.
At the same time, one of the most far-reaching housing policy bills in recent memory recently passed out of the U.S. Senate Banking Committee with strong bipartisan support.
State and local governments are now weighing how to respond to these enormous shifts at the federal level.
Join the Terner Center and Labs for a reception and discussion on how state and local governments can use this moment to scale emerging and innovative local solutions.
We’ll be hearing from:
- (featured speaker), Assemblymember, California Assembly District 14
- , Chief Executive Officer of the National Housing Trust
- , Secretary of the Business, Consumer Services, and Housing Agency, State of California
- , Councilmember for Los Angeles Council District 4
- , Commissioner of the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal
