Term 4 - Experimental Arts for Kids (8-12 years)

About this class:

Uncover the amazing properties and possibilities of paint, charcoal, pastel, paper, and craft materials. Have the space to continue exploring your own creative world/sensibilities and end the term by learning more advanced mediums like installation and body work (performance) with guest tutors!

Geared for students from Grades 3 to 6.

Age: 8-12 years

Dates: Tuesdays, 29 October-17 December, 4-6pm (8 weeks)

Cost: $150, $100 with a $50 Creative Kids Voucher (Eventbrite fees included).

You will not be able to enrol in a class with a discounted Creative Kids Voucher ticket unless you have a valid Creative Kids Voucher number. Remaining balance cannot be used. Creative Kids Vouchers are only accepted during enrolment periods, thank you for understanding.

What Students Will Learn

We will focus on having fun while experimenting with different drawing styles, techniques and games designed to encourage creative thinking and develop drawing and observational skills.

This class is predominantly a pencil drawing class, however students will always have the option to add colour with coloured pencils and textas and occasionally collage, watercolour and acrylic paint.

A wide range of subject matter will be covered including portraits, animals, buildings, landscapes and famous artworks.

Covid Safe Plan:

Bankstown Arts Centre has a council-approved 'CovidSafe Plan' in order to ensure the health and safety of all visitors and Arts Centre staff. Measures include physical distancing, contactless hand sanitising and regularly cleaning.

Cancellation Policy:

Bankstown Arts Centre cannot accept responsibility for changes to students’ personal circumstances that prevent attendance. Fees are non-refundable and there are no transfers or refunds if you miss a class.

Fees are kept to a minimum and cover tuition, the use of equipment during classes and where included, the cost of tutor fees and/ or basic materials. Fees and charges may increase per financial year. For more information on fees, refer to Canterbury-Bankstown Fees and Charges document
