💃Beginners in Malak (new location)
6-7pm Thursdays @ Small Hall, Malak Community Centre, 13 Malak Crescent*

💃Beginners in Palmerston:
10-11am Saturdays @ Room 1, Palmerston Recreation Centre (PRC)

ℹ️ Bellydance for Beginners is just that! No experience necessary but a willingness to shake your jiggly bits, get in touch with your inner camel and let your snake arms be free, is!
Join Director of Darwin Bellydance, Myf, for an hour of fun where you will learn the fundamentals of Oriental dance aka Bellydance, a short choreography to take home for lounge room performances and a chance to shimmy up a storm with like minded individuals! Be quick as spaces fill up fast!
Along the way, you’ll be building core muscle, activating your glutes, increasing your mobility (particularly in your spine), improving overall balance, spatial awareness, endurance and coordination. Bellydance is a very accessible dance form, with women of all ages participating in our classes.
Returning Dancers are recommended to complete 2 to 4 terms of Beginners classes to master the basics before moving to Intermediate classes. Conversely, dancers who like the format and pace of Beginners are welcome to stay on at this level.
Please bring a bottle of water & wear comfy exercise clothing, no shoes required.

💃Intermediate Bellydance in Malak (new location)

ℹ️ A class for dancers who are ready to progress to more complex or layered bellydance moves & combinations. Gain greater muscle control, increase your coordination, knowledge of bellydance, fitness and flexibility - all while having fun grooving to fabulous music!
**Minimum requirements to join this class is 2 terms of Bellydance beginners or as advised by your Beginners class teacher - be sure to ask if you are ready or let them know you’d like to try the class.
💃Advanced Bellydance Class
6-7:30pm Wednesdays @ Darwin Bellydance Studio, Leanyer
8 Weeks: 22 July - 9 September
ℹ️ The Wednesday Advanced Class is the place to explore and learn about the vast range of dance that comes under the umbrella term ‘bellydance’.
Expand your dance repertoire, engage more fully with your body and delight in dancing with a diverse, yet like minded group of fabulous women who support and encourage you in your dance journey.
💃Egyptian Style Dance with Melissa (Intermediate to Advanced)
7:30- 8:30pm Mondays @ Darwin Bellydance Studio, Leanyer
8 weeks: 20 July - 7 September
ℹ️ Melissa is an experienced performer with a passion for Egyptian style dance. She has travelled, performed and studied extensively with many of the best teachers in the world. Intermediate and Advanced dancers are encouraged to dive deeper into Egyptian style bellydance guided by this experienced and skilled teacher.
💃Tribal Fusion Bellydance with Myf plus Troupe-led creative lab
7pm- 8:30pm Tuesday @ Darwin Bellydance Studio, Leanyer
8 classes: 21 July - 8 September
ℹ️ The first hour of this class will focus on Tribal Fusion techniques, styling, and sequences.
The last half hour will be time for the Tribal Fusion Troupe to practice & develop dances for 2026 events. This class is at an Intermediate to Advanced level.

🪘🎶The Egyptian Drum & Zill Sessions
Sundays 1-2pm
Dates in Term 3 to be advised
Open to new members with no musical background. Join an enthusiastic group of amateur percussionists as we play the rhythms of Egypt. These sessions will be useful for dancers wanting to further their knowledge of Egyptian music and practice their zill playing, as well as for anyone wanting to play the Darbuka - a drum kit contained within one drum!
BYO Drum if you have it or there are drums and other percussion instruments available for use in the studio.

Your payment secures your place in class for the term, including access to the facebook groups where class content is posted to support your learning, regardless if you attend class or not.
Your teacher plans each week expecting you to attend. If you fail to attend a class your teacher then needs to catch you up and keep everyone else progressing which increases their work load considerably.
