December brings with it the birthday of one of the most revered and iconic ‘Shayars’ of recent times – Mirza Asadullah Khan Ghalib!l

And DBF & Parwaz invite you to celebrate the 227th birth anniversary of this 'Rekhta Kay Ustaad' with none other than the famed Delhi-based author who has introduced many of us to the wonders and joys of Urdu Poets of Delhi - Dr. Saif Mahmood!

Dr Saif Mahmood by profession an international lawyer is a leading South Asian name in the field of Urdu poetry literature and its cultural heritage. His bestselling book on the Urdu poets of Mughal Delhi "Beloved Delhi: A Mughal City and Her Greatest Poets" is widely recognised as an authoritative work on the subject. Having served as visiting scholar for Urdu Literature at the University of Oxford he is one of the most highly sought-after speakers at literature festivals all over the world and has been on dozens of panels with the most renowned artists poets writers and scholars of our times. He advises several literary and cultural organizations globally and his work appears regularly in periodicals and news E-zines.
