Tennis on the Historic Court: Community Play at Rancho Los Alamitos

$50 per person for a (1) hour playing session. $20 Social Guest Pass* (non-player).

Join us for a special, one-of-a-kind morning of tennis on the Rancho’s historic tennis court, surrounded by our beautiful gardens.

How It Works

• 🎾 Players (18 years and up): Select one 1-hour tennis session when registering.
• Guests: Guest passess* are available for those who would like to attend and enjoy the event without playing.

Select a one-hour reservation session and participate in relaxed, community-style play. 562 Tennis coaches Rachael Stone and Mercy Tran will organize games, rotate players, and ensure everyone has a chance to play on the court.

After your session, you are welcome to stay and enjoy the grounds to socialize and take in the historic gardens. Whether you come to play or relax courtside, this is a unique opportunity to enjoy tennis on a historic court in a beautiful garden setting.

*The Social Guest Pass ticket does not include a tennis playing session. The ticket is for guests accompanying a registered player who would like to attend and watch. Guests can purchase food and drink and hang out in the gardens by the tennis court. Limited to 2 guest passes per registered player.

Food and Coffee For Sale:

Coffee and breakfast will be available for purchase onsite: The June Brew pop-up will sell specialty lattes and coffee. The Grand pop-up will have breakfast burritos for sale.

All levels welcome. Please bring your own tennis racket to play. We can't wait to see you there!

Proceeds from this event help support the ongoing care, preservation, and maintenance of the Rancho and its historic gardens.

Meet the Instructors:

Rachael Stone is a USPTA-certified and USTA Safe Play-certified tennis professional with 20 years of experience teaching tennis to students of all ages and all walks of life, including those with special needs and mobility issues. Since 2010, Rachael has brought her high energy and positivity to the Long Beach Community as a Parks and Recreation tennis instructor for toddlers, kids, teens, adults, seniors, and everyone in between. Coach Rachael is here to help you play tennis and have fun!

Mercy Tran developed a love for tinkering with tennis rackets and strings when she was 14 and started a stringing business out of her sister's garage. After college, she returned in 2021 and joined Coach Rachael's Advanced Beginner class through Long Beach Parks & Recreation. Inspired to help beginners develop a love for tennis, she became a USPTA (now RSPA) certified tennis coach and ambassador for Solinco in 2024. Now, she wears many hats, including being Coach Rachael's #1 support.
