Uncorked Vintage Academia brings you an unique inside look at one of Texan's favorite varieties at SommSpace!

Tempranillo grows well throughout Spain, but also in our Mediterranean climate.
We'll explore a minimum of 16 wines, most from a private collection, sold-out & library selections, winemaker-direct samples - and we'd get to hear from first hand grapegrowers and winemakers, we're bringing winemakers Mike Batek of Hye Meadow Winery, and Cooper Anderson of The Austin Winery to share insights.
The tour doesn't stop there...we'll venture into territory where tempranillo grows that perhaps you're unfamiliar with: Greece, Argentina, Mexico, and the rests of the United States (Washington, California), totalling 5 countries and over 8 distinct regions, and several winemaking styles!

Reception: Reserve Cava to get our juices flowing.

An interactive discussion from Winemakers Mike Batek (Hye Meadow Winery) and Cooper ANderson (The Austin Winery) about their Tempranillo growin specs and winemaking singularities. We'll also sample cellar library wines from their respective labels.

Next, the comparative tasting of classic growing areas: Rioja in Spain with their selective maturation styles of Crianza, Reserva and Gran Reserva.

This comparative exploration series also features a Tempranillo Blanco, and a rosé of Tempranillo.

Lastly, you don't want to miss one of our library samples from 1970 to close!
