Cranksgiving is a food drive scavenger hunt BY BIKE, gathering food for the Tempe Community Action Agency hosted by Bike Saviours Bicycle Collective. Can't make it to the event? You can sponsor a rider by donating cash for them to ride on your behalf! Donate here: https://www.bikesaviours.org/donate
Riders will be given a list of food items and a list of grocers in Tempe.
PARTICIPATE 3 WAYS:
HEAVYWEIGHTS: Teams (4 person max) and Individuals. Collect the most food by weight from at least 3 stores to win. Separate awards for individuals and teams with and without cargo bikes/trailers.
ALLEYCAT: Individuals only. Winner: First to return after visiting all stores and purchasing at least one item at each store.
FAMILY + JOY RIDE: Ride for fun! No requirement for visiting stores but bring some shelf stable food to donate or buy some at stops along the ride. We'll have ride leaders who will safely guide the group to TCAA and back.
We suggest a $20 donation per person as a registration fee, to either TCAA or Bike Saviours, but this isn't required to participate.
Don't have the means to buy food to donate but still want to join? Join the fun ride! We're collecting funds to help the whole group buy more food for TCAA.
Tentative Schedule:
10-11: Registration (at Saltfire)
11:00: Rides Start
2:30: Deadline for return and weigh-in (at TCAA)
4:00: Awards ceremony (at Saltfire)
