Each month, the Four Peaks Brewing 8th Street Pub will become the center of the universe for one night of fun, food, drinks, and everything space!

Join the official Valley of the Sun satellite of Astronomy on Tap as they take us on journeys across our planet, our solar system, and beyond.

Because 42 is the answer to everything, pints of Cosmic Daydream West Coast IPA will be $4.20 during all Astronomy on Tap events. Other drinks and food will be available for purchase.

This completely free event will feature different themes and speakers each month, so be sure to attend each one! Tickets are suggested, but not required. All seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

August's theme will really be out-of-this-word: We'll be discussing the search for extraterrestial life, from ancient rocks to alien atmospheres.

We are delighted that Prof. Ariel Anbar (President's Professor, School of Earth and Space Exploration) is opening the semester for us. Ariel will trace the history of life on Earth as recorded in the rocks, and he is bringing real fossils and specimens for the audience to handle. He will also run a hands-on activity!
Dr. Matt Nixon (51 Pegasi b Fellow, School of Earth and Space Exploration) will then take us off-world, from rocks we can hold to planets we can only read in starlight. What would a sign of life actually look like from light-years away, and why is oxygen, the textbook answer, neither the whole story nor a guarantee?
