TeMaTe Institute 2025 Dance Conference

The Convening for Dance & Culture Conference brings two days of African and Afro-diasporic dance, drum, and community to The ANDY (Andy Arts Center) in Detroit. Learn from master artists in Sabar, Djembe, Kutiro, Dun, Congolese, Afrobeats, and Afro-Caribbean styles, with live drumming in multiple classes. All levels welcome! Come to learn, sweat, and connect. Bundles include general dance classes; Djembe Drum and Dun Dance are add-on classes. Djembes and duns are available first-come, first-served (limited).

• Levels: Beginner to advanced (modifications offered)
• Tickets: Bundles = general dance classes; Djembe and Dun Drum & Dun Dance are extra add-ons.
• Instruments: Djembes & duns provided first-come, first-served (limited)
• Policies: No refunds or exchanges; schedule/faculty subject to change
• Bring: Comfortable dancewear, water, small towel; ear protection recommended for sensitive ears
