For over four decades, Trans Europe Halles conferences have been more than just gatherings – they are catalysts for change. They bring together artists, cultural workers, and activists to exchange ideas, create new collaborations, and strengthen the independent cultural scene across Europe and beyond.
This year, we invite you to Toplocentrala in Sofia, Bulgaria's capital – a contemporary arts centre housed in a repurposed heat plant, now a thriving hub of creativity, dialogue, and experimentation.
From 5–8 June 2025, we gather under the theme BeHOME:
Residencies in Focus, exploring how art spaces and residencies nurture connection, resilience, and humanity in a rapidly shifting world.
Who is this for?
This conference is open to everyone – TEH members, cultural practitioners, and anyone who believes in the power of independent cultural spaces. Whether you run an artist residency, manage a cultural centre, or simply seek inspiration, this is where meaningful conversations happen.
Tickets
All ticket fees are charged in Bulgarian lev (BGN) at the exchange rate valid on the day of payment.

✔ Regular fees for TEH Members: €160 (charged in BGN)
✔ Regular fees for non-members: €190 (charged in BGN)
