About this Event
Sensual Bachata with Katie Harley
Come join this month's practitioner class at ARC, Stockton (Dance Studio in the basement) for a session on Bachata with Katie. You will have a brilliant time, build connections and most importantly have fun.
Katie is a dancer, teacher, events organiser and promoter here in the Tees Valley. She teaches regularly in Middlesbrough, through her company; Pasion de baile, teaching mainly Salsa and Bachata, both very popular and fun dances. Katie teaches both lead and follow roles and places a big emphasis on strong technique.
Katie started with Ballroom and Latin, before training to be a teacher and completing an exchange trip to Holland, teaching over 400 children.
Katie has a passion and love for dance, music and people, teaching workshops at congresses nationally across the North East and in London. She organises social dance parties and has international teachers come to the North East from all around the world. Katie believes everyone can dance, and everyone should dance!!
We want to create a supportive environment that allows anyone who has trained in dance many moons ago, to come back and reignite their love for dance. Or perhaps a dance teacher, running their own dance school who wants to move for their own enjoyment.
Alternatively, if you want to come for the social element only – just let us know at [email protected] and we will email some information on where to meet.
Our programme for Dance Practitioners is subsidised and therefore participants must meet the following criteria to benefit from this provision.
Participants must:
- Be over 18 years old.
- No longer be studying within a formal education context.
- Hold a completed qualification in creative arts at Level 5 (foundation degree) or Level 6 (undergraduate degree) or higher, or an equivalent e.g., Scottish Bachelor's Degree or international qualification. Any artists working professionally with more informal training please do get in touch with us as we’d love to hear from you.
- Be currently based in or from the North East (Tees Valley, County Durham, Northumberland and Tyne & Wear)
Please note that spaces for professional activities are limited and offered to those who meet the above criteria to ensure those who are pursuing a dance career can access suitable training, support and professional development to meet their needs within the professional dance industry. TeesDance reserves the right to amend the qualifying criteria where appropriate.
