About this Event
Debbie Harbin is leading a Moving from Within session for our July Practitioner Class. Moving from Within will focus on connecting with self in a safe space, listening to our bodies and moving with and through it. It may include some collective connection and will incorporate mindful movement.
Debbie Harbin is a choreographer, teacher and founder of The D Project Dance Company. She brings a wealth of passion, knowledge, excellent skills and drive to her work. The D Project inspires, nurtures, supports people of all ages through dance. Debbie is also currently training to be a body oriented coach focusing on helping people live a more purposeful life though somatic therapy. Working on moving through and gaining an understanding of our thoughts and feelings.
This class is open to dance practitioners of all abilities and experiences and is perfect to anyone who hasn't danced for a while. We want to create a supportive environment that allows anyone who have trained in dance many moons a go, to come back and reignite their love for dance. Or perhaps a dance teacher, running their own dance school who wants to move for their own enjoyment.
Alternatively, if you want to come for the social element only – just let us know on [email protected] and we will email some information on where to meet.
Our programme for Dance Practitioners is subsidised and therefore participants must meet the following criteria to benefit from this provision.
Participants must:
Be over 18 years old.
No longer be studying within a formal education context.
Hold a completed qualification in creative arts at Level 5 (foundation degree) or Level 6 (undergraduate degree) or higher, or an equivalent e.g., Scottish Bachelor's Degree or international qualification. Any artists working professionally with more informal training please do get in touch with us as we’d love to hear from you.
Be currently based in or from the North East (Tees Valley, County Durham, Northumberland and Tyne & Wear)
Please note that spaces for professional activities are limited and offered to those who meet the above criteria to ensure those who are pursuing a career in dance can access suitable training, support and professional development to meet their needs within the professional dance industry. TeesDance reserves the right to amend the qualifying criteria where appropriate.
