Join us for the launch of Here to Help, SJOG’s new service raising awareness of the risk of suicide for people with autism.
About Here to Help:
By engaging with people with lived experience, the project has been co-designed to produce a range of accessible resources through an interactive website. Supporting people, families and professionals across the Tees Valley area, we are Here to Help.
About this event:
This event will be a chance for you to find out more about the 'Here to Help' project and what support we offer related to mental health and autism for those who live and work in the Tees Valley. You will be able to speak to the project team; find more information about how to engage with the project and have a go at some wellbeing workshops throughout the day.
Wellbeing sessions will be running hourly:
The sessions in the first hour (11-12) are specifically designed for individuals with more complex support needs around mobility, communication and motor skills. The sessions running between 12-1 and 1-2 are open to anybody. You do not need to book on the sessions in advance, just turn up on the day and sign up.
11am-12 - Quiet hour
The first hour (11-12) is designed to be particularly accessible for individuals with complex support needs and the individuals who support them. The workshops will be smaller to allow greater staff support, and the event will be quieter to reduce overwhelm.
12-2pm
From 12-2 we are open to anyone who is interested in finding out more about what we are doing to support autistic individuals with their mental health, whether that be autistic individuals; parents of autistic individuals or professionals who support autistic individuals.
