⛳ Introducing We've Got Drive
A New Golf and Wellbeing Programme for Wakatipu Teens
We’re excited to announce the launch of We've Got Drive, a new programme designed especially for young golfers aged 12–18 years.
Running during the second week of the September school holidays (28 September – 2 October), this five-day experience is about much more than improving your golf game. It’s about helping young people build confidence, develop life skills, make new connections, and discover how golf can support their future both on and off the course.
Why are we creating this programme?
As many of you know, there are fantastic opportunities for younger golfers in our community. However, there has been a gap in structured programmes for teenagers. We want to create a space where young people can continue to grow, stay engaged with the sport, and feel part of a supportive community.
Our goal is to retain and inspire young golfers by offering experiences that combine sport with personal development and wellbeing.
What can participants expect?
Throughout the week, participants will enjoy a mix of golf activities and interactive workshops covering topics such as:
- Identity and personal strengths
- Mindset and resilience
- Nutrition and performance
- Leadership and communication
- Golf pathways and future careers
- Community involvement and giving back
- Environmental awareness and sustainability
- Goal setting and planning for the future
Every participant will also create their own personalised action plan to help them carry the lessons from the programme into everyday life.
More than just golf
Whether a participant dreams of playing competitively, wants to work in the golf industry, or simply enjoys the game as a lifelong hobby, We've Got Drive is designed to support them as a whole person.
We believe golf can be a powerful platform for building friendships, confidence, resilience, and a sense of purpose.
Looking to the future
This is the beginning of something bigger. Our vision is to build a lasting community where young golfers, their families, and future alumni stay connected, support one another, and help shape the next generation of participants.
