As part of the The Fringe Festival at the Zeiders American Dream Theater…Picture it - the 1980s: leg warmers, geometric shapes, and Twizzlers that look like blood under neon lights. This campy, darkly comic homage to classic ’80s coming-of-age movies follows a teenage girl on the brink of self-discovery. Except this time, growing up means something a little darker.
While her peers worry about popularity and homecoming, our teenage heroine navigates awkward firsts, big feelings, and the terrifying thrill of finally knowing who you are.
With heightened theatricality, sharp humor, and an unsettling edge, the show flips the coming-of-age story on its head to ask what happens when becoming yourself is the most dangerous thing you can do.
