Teenage Bottlerocket are a pop-punk/punk rock band from Laramie, Wyoming, formed in 2001. The band was formed by twin brothers Ray and Brandon Carlisle after their previous band Homeless Wonders broke up in 2000, and is completed by Kody Templeman and Miguel Chen. The bands music is heavily influenced by Kodys other band, The Lillingtons. The band released their debut EP A Bomb on a Laramie communal label, One Legged Pup, in 2002 and soon after on October 31st 2003 the band released their first album, Another Way, on vinyl only through that same label.After touring through 2004, they set to work on their next release, Total, which was released in April 2005 through Red Scare. After more touring in support of Total, and a spot on the warped tour, they recorded their next LP for Red Scare, Warning Device, which was released on January 8, 2008. A video was released for the song In the Basement on December 28, 2007. On their Don Giovanni debut, Home Movies, Rodeo Boys are upping the ante. Their music owes as much to the twang of country as it does to the fuzz of grunge, and its a winning combination.Lead single Sugar sits somewhere between Bully and SPICE, a gritty slice of feedback-drenched rock n roll that immediately makes it clear where Rodeo Boys passions liein loud, crunchy, catchy alt rock. Dog Leg plays out like a supersized take on classic rock, all roaring solos and guttural hooks, and epic closer Tomboy Radio is a proggy masterclass in dynamics.Home Movies hardly lets up all through its 40 minutes, the space folk of Hail Mary allowing a couple minutes to breathe, but it all seems to zip by. Vocalist Tiff Hannay says Rodeo Boys goal as a queer blue-collar band is to give a voice to young queer people in small towns, and what a powerful voice it is.Boris The Sprinkler were formed the night of the 1992 ShopKo fireworks in Green Bay. Veterans of numerous local bands (including minor Beer City sensations Suburban Mutilation), they opted to forgo most then-popular musical routes long-stale hardcore, vaguely melodic emo-esque muttering, dull strummy plugged-in acoustic guitar crap for the then highly-unpopular music they grew up playing: The punk rock of the late 70s and early 80s.
