New Mexico teens can explore history, make art, and create a zine in this free summer camp hosted by the New Mexico History Museum.
About this Event

Blending storytelling, hands on artmaking, and museum exploration, this innovative camp invites New Mexico teens ages 14 - 18 to dive into the museum’s most fascinating objects, stories, and spaces—and transform what they find into an original, DIY zine. Zines are self-published pamphlets that share writing, drawing, photos, collage, and other art, and are usually photocopied for distribution.

Campers will create a teen designed zine "guidebook" that will be shared with future teen visitors to the museum, offering an insider's perspective on the must-see spots, hidden gems, and surprising histories found throughout the galleries. The result will be a playful, creative, and lasting contribution to how young people experience the museum for years to come.

Teen Zine History Camp runs daily from 1 - 4:45 p.m. This is a structured, weeklong program and drop-in attendance is not available. Students must attend all days. Maximum of 15 students. Camp is FREE to New Mexico teens, but registration is required at https://forms.office.com/g/EY2y9gfBPn.
