The Yard are thrilled to invite Dr. Sital (Family Physician) and Vanessa McNamara (Dietitian) from Osler Health for an informative and interactive session on navigating the wild (and wonderful) world of tweens and teens.From growth spurts and mood swings to brain changes and big emotions, we’ll unpack what’s really going on during this stage of development—and how you can best support your growing child by understanding their nutritional, mental, physical and hormonal needs.
Dr Sital and Vanessa McNamarra will discuss:
-How changing hormones affect brain development, moods and bodies
-How to optimise nutrition for growing, active bodies
-What’s normal tween/teen behaviour and what’s not
-Strategies for keeping your child healthy physically, emotionally and mentally in this pressured modern world
-As part of the session one of The Yard coaches will be leading the group through a relaxing, stretch session focussing on breathing and calming techniques for you to use at home.
