"Lights Camera Video… in one week!
This in-depth one-week Summer Teen Filmmaking Workshop is designed for ages 13 -17. In these all-day sessions, teens work in small teams to plan, shoot, and edit short documentary videos filmed in and around downtown Silver Spring, Maryland. Past films included Velardi’s Candy, Record Exchange.
Teens will be provided access to and training with video cameras and editing equipment. Final projects will be shown in a mini festival for family and friends on the last day of the camp, videos will be uploaded to YouTube.
Additional Info: Teen must be 13 years old at the start of the workshop; participants can refrigerate their lunches; water and snacks will be provided.""

Docs In Progress is located on the ground level of the Alexander House. The entrance of Docs In Progress is on Apple Ave. Parking garage, walking distance: Cameron Street Garage. Metro Station Red Line: Silver Spring (walking distance 5-7 minutes).
TEACHING ARTIST: KHINÉ BONNER
Khiné Bonner is a Docs In Progress Fellow, producer, editor, colorist, and media literacy educator. He's designed and developed youth media and filmmaking curriculum for a myriad of non-profit organizations in the Washington metropolitan area and he's also the lead editor at TEK Creative, a small production agency based in Washington, D.C. Khiné has produced for the Smithsonian Folklife Festival, the Luce Arts Foundation, the Greater Washington Boys & Girls Club and is the Director of Video for the East Orange Music, Art and Culture Festival. His current documentary short, Fences, is in pre-production and focuses on the Peter Westbrook Foundation in Brooklyn, New York.
