Teen Hour- Volcano Experiment
Ready to witness some tectonic-scale destruction? We’re turning the Harrington Public Library into a geologists' lab for an afternoon of chemical reactions and high-velocity eruptions. This isn't your little brother's paper-mâché science project—we’re going for maximum flow and peak aesthetic.
We’re skipping the flour and water mess and diving straight into the science of the effervescent eruption. You’ll build it, customize the "lava" chemistry, and then trigger the blast.
🧪 The Science Behind the Smoke
Ever wonder why some volcanoes "pop" while others "flow"? We’ll be experimenting with different chemical catalysts to see how they change the reaction.
🛠️ What You’ll Do
Architect Your Peak: Construct a rapid-build volcano structure designed for multiple "eruptions."
Lava Customization: Use neon pigments and glitter to create the most "Instagrammable" magma flows in Delaware.
The "Blast Off": Compete for the highest eruption height and the longest-lasting lava flow.
🚧 The "Blast Zone" Warning
Dress for Mess: We are using dyes and reactive chemicals. While we provide safety goggles, we highly recommend wearing "science clothes" (stuff you don't mind getting a little stained).
Safety First: This event is supervised, and all chemicals are non-toxic, but we will be dealing with exothermic reactions—things might get a little warm!
Don't let your afternoon go dormant. Come make a mess with us!
