Teen Hour- Dino Garden
Build a prehistoric world that fits on your desk!
Think you have what it takes to be a "Paleo-Gardener"? Join us at the Harrington Public Library for a creative STEaM workshop where we’ll design and build miniature, self-contained dinosaur ecosystems. Part landscaping, part world-building, and totally custom.
🦖 The Build
Forget boring flower pots. We’re going full Mesozoic. You’ll receive a kit to engineer a landscape that looks like a snapshot from 65 million years ago.
Terrain Engineering: Layer your "earth" with specialized drainage stones, charcoal, and soil to keep your prehistoric jungle healthy.
The Flora: Select from a variety of hardy, primitive-looking succulents and mosses that mimic the giant ferns and towering horsetails of the Dino age.
The Dinos & Details: Populate your world with miniature dinosaurs. Add volcanic rock, "fossilized" pebbles, and driftwood to complete the look.
The Design Twist: Want to get technical? Use our "mini-ruins" to create a scene where nature is reclaiming a lost city, or keep it classic with a primordial swamp theme.
Don't let this event go extinct! Space and supplies are limited. Sign up at the library circulation desk or visit our website to reserve your garden kit.
Will your Dinos thrive, or is an "asteroid" in their future? Come find out!
