Teen & Adult make a whistle - jewellery making workshop.

Make something a bit different using jewellery making skills.
This 2hour workshop is designed for a teen with an accompanying adult participating together, and so each ticket is for on adult and one teen. In the class you will learn to create your very own brass whistle.

Working with spent brass casing and some bamboo we will use traditional jewellery making techniques to create your very own whistle (that works!).

We will learn to saw, file and shape the brass to create the whistle body; secure a hook to it so that it can be attached to a lanyard; then saw, shape and file the wood then assemble them together so that you have a whistle that you can use.

The workshop will take place at The Studio at Millbank, Millbank House, Cumnock and a maximum of 4 pairs of attendees will take part in the workshop.

Suitable for those aged 12 years and over with the accompanying adult 18 years and over.

No previous jewellery experience is necessary, all materials to make your whistle are supplied, and all tools needed for the class will be provided for use during the workshop.

As we will be working with tools, loose clothing should be avoided, closed toe shoes should be worn and if you have long hair it should be worn tied back.

Please remember to bring glasses if needed as we will be working with small objects.
