Made possible by a Arts Re-grant from the City of GF, this new program for teens 13-18 will not only rehearse a play relevant to teenagers (She Kills Monsters), but will focus on developing the acting skills of young actors. Teens will learn script analysis, how to move on stage, project their voice, how to work with props effectively, and theatre protocols which will make directors want to work with them in the future. The workshop ends with 3 performances of She Kills Monsters at the Empire. Every student will also learn how to write a theatre resume and will receive a professional headshot, courtesy of photographer Erica LaMarca.
If you know a teen who is serious about acting, don't delay in signing up today. We can only accommodate 14 actors; however, we are also interested in working with teens who would like to explore lights/sound/stage managing. Email [email protected] for more info.
Days & Times TBD once registration is closed. The director will reach out to set the schedule in order to work with participants' other conflicts. Roughly, the workshop will take place 3 evenings, M&T&F, after 6 p.m., and one weekend afternoon, day & time TBD.

Instructor/Director: Ryan King is a native of Grand Forks and benefited from the tremendous musical and performance opportunities offered through the GF Public Schools. He earned his B.A. in Vocal Performance from UND, went on to study at the prestigious Bob Cole Conservatory at UC-Long Beach, and returned to GF to earn his M.A. in Vocal Pedagogy. In summer of 2024, he attended the Broadway Teacher's Directing intensive in NYC. Currently, Ryan operates a private vocal studio and teaches voice at Concordia College.
