Experience the magic of an intimate starlit performance, surrounded by thousands of twinkling candles, against the backdrop of Fed Square’s iconic architecture.
The summertime open air favourite is back, by popular demand.
To celebrate Waitangi Day, Māori artist Teeks will perform by Candlelight, sharing his soulful tunes, by candlelight and under the stars.
Bring a picnic blanket and rally your friends to enjoy this very special free evening concert featuring Teeks by Candlelight.
This performance will be AUSLAN interpreted and an accessible viewing area available.
About Teeks:
Celebrated Māori artist TEEKS finds purpose and power in the healing balm of music. Born in Hokianga, Te Karehana Gardiner-Toi, in his quiet, cerebral demeanour has a unique way of bringing a packed audience to absolute silence. A performance by TEEKS is a spiritual experience – modern soul from Aotearoa New Zealand.
TEEKS made his entrance with the 2017 debut EP The Grapefruit Skies. That same year, he took home his first Aotearoa Music Award and attracted nominations for the prestigious APRA AMCOS Silver Scrolls Award and the Taite Music prize. In 2021, TEEKS released his first full-length album, Something To Feel which debuted at #1 on the NZ Chart.
TEEKS reached new heights in 2022, following viral TikTok success in South and the United States. Now with over 1 billion short-form video views, two platinum projects, four platinum singles and four gold singles to his name, TEEKS has grown from strength to strength, cloaked head to toe in musical alchemy.
