Teddy Bear Repair Cafe at the Richmond Children's Arts Festival

This free Teddy Bear Repair Cafe on Monday February 17 will focus on repairing children's stuffed toys.

Our team of friendly “doctors” will stitch up rips and tears, reattach limbs, and re-stuff toys that need some extra plumping. Your treasured stuffed toy will be in good hands.

Richmond supports a circular economy by encouraging residents to use, reuse or repair and recycle items multiple times to help reduce waste and reliance on natural resources.

An appointment is recommended, drop-ins will be accepted on a first come/first serve basis. No drop-ins will be accepted after 4:00pm.

Please note:

• These are soft repairs for rips, tears, patching, buttons, eyes, re-attaching limbs and re-stuffing.

• Please bring your clean item as repair experts are not able to do bathes/deep cleans.

• Exact fabric matches may not be possible and no mechanical fixes.

• We kindly ask that you make only one appointment per child and bring one stuffed toy per appointment.

• Be advised that at check-in stuffed toys will be assessed by an expert. Not all repairs are possible in the time permitted but we will do our best.

• If we're not able to fix an item, an expert will be happy to provide guidance on next steps.

• All drop-ins will meet with a repair expert on a first-come, first-serve basis. One item per session and one session per person.
