TED Talk Lunch Series: Why you think you're right - even when you're wrong

WPL's TED Talk Lunch Series will gather at noon on Thursday, November 12 to view and discuss “Why you think you’re right, even when you’re wrong,” a 2016 talk by writer Julia Galef. Galef identifies two mindsets: the “soldier,” prone to defend one’s viewpoint at all costs and the “scout,” spurred by curiosity. In this compelling talk, she examines how these mindsets shape the way we interpret information. As a bonus, she throws in a history lesson from 19th-century France. WPL’s TED Talk Lunch Series is free and open to the public. Community members are invited to bring a sack lunch; coffee and dessert are provided.
