About this Event

The Technomoral Conversations series brings together leaders, creators and innovators from academia, technology, business and the third sector in a ‘fireside chat’ format to discuss futures that are worth wanting.

Chaired by the Centre for Technomoral Futures' Chancellor's Fellow in Responsible Machine Learning and AI, Dr Zeerak Talat, this Technomoral Conversation will feature Javier Ruiz Diaz (Technology and Human Rights Lead at Amnesty International UK), tèmítópé lasade-anderson (Executive Director at Glitch), Haylea Campbell (Senior Associate in the Pro Bono Practice at Hogan Lovells Cadwalader), and Professor Michael Veale (Professor of Technology Law and Policy at University College London). The panelists will discuss AI’s rapidly expanding impact on fundamental rights such as freedom of speech, labour rights, privacy and freedom of movement, and how AI is reshaping the wider political climate. The event will include time for audience questions.

This event is a collaboration between the Centre for Technomoral Futures and the Edinburgh Futures Institute.
