Fundamentals of Big Ways Skill Camp - Head Down Camp with Jesse Jaber and Chris Dare.
With decades of combined experience in vertical big way formations, Chris Dare and Jesse Jaber bring world-class expertise to every event. Both have participated in the current HD and Sequential World Records, with Chris serving as a Sector Captain on the Vertical World Record. Jesse captained Team USA to gold in Indoor Dynamic Vertical Sequential 8-Way at the World Championships, with Chris also competing on the gold-medal-winning team. Together, they host the Barnstorm Sequential Event, bringing together 20 experienced flyers to build complex dive flows and push the limits of vertical sequential skydiving.
The Fundamentals of Big-Way HD Skill Camp is designed to build the foundational skills, safety, awareness, and confidence needed to progress to larger formations and more advanced events.
This camp is designed for intermediate - advanced vertical flyers who want an introduction to or want to practice their big way skills. New to big ways, wanting to get current or improve your skill set? This camp is for you!
Learn the spine & ribs method, understand big way formations and what it takes to be on a record.
Minimum requirements:
Must be able to hold and fly static HD the entire skydive
Must be able to safely approach and reliably take a dock
Must be able to fly safely in a group of at least 12
Must be able to break off safely by turning 180 from centre of the formation and track away
*If you do not yet meet these minimum requirements please see our Vertical HD or HU Skill Camp events on the same weekend to work on your HD & HU skills in a small group setting.
Camp Format:
- 1 day camp (Sat 1st August)
- Skydive Elsinore
- Must commit to 5 jumps (weather permitting)
- Group sizes are minimum 7 plus coach for the event to go ahead
- 60 minute calls giving people time to pack, watch video of jump, brief the next jump
- The day will start with a 30 minute seminar/briefing on big way fundamentals and safety considerations
- You might be asked to fly in the base, but will be rotated
Cost and registration:
- Registration is $100
- Registration does not include your jump tickets (jump ticket cost will be dependent on altitude, we will aim to have higher than normal, but without oxygen, if permitted by the DZ)
