This event is held by the Huntington’s Disease Society of America (HDSA) Michigan Chapter. HDSA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and the Team Hope Walk is a fundraising and informational event to support local Michigan families, like mine, affected by Huntington's disease.
What is Huntington’s Disease?
If you are unfamiliar with Huntington’s Disease (HD), it is a
fatal genetic disorder that causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain; it deteriorates a person’s physical and mental abilities and has no cure. HD is often thought of as a combination of ALS, Parkinson’s, and Alzheimer’s disease.
Team Hope Walk:
The Team Hope Walks are the largest opportunity for members of the HD community to come together and raise awareness and funds to support HDSA. The 2025 West Michigan Team Hope Walk takes place on Sunday, October 19 at the Grand ravines Lodge in Georgetown Twp. We will be having a silent auction and a raffle for donated items at the event, and we accept any level of monetary sponsorship/donation.
