👩🏻‍🏫 Fairbanks Arts Association is excited to announce a vital training opportunity for practicing artists interested in making a meaningful impact in schools and communities. The training, designed to enhance skills in arts integration, residency planning, workshop presentation, and performance material development, will occur on September 28th and 29th, 2024, at the Morris Thompson Cultural Center, 101 Dunkel St, Fairbanks, AK 99701.
Training Details:
Dates: September 28-29, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Cost: $50 for non-members / $45 for members
🏅 Certification: Valid for the foreseeable future (if already listed in the handbook, no need for this year’s training unless desired)
Refund Policy: 50% refund available until September 15, 2024; no refunds after September 15, 2024
🎨 This training is specifically tailored for practicing artists who aspire to become a unique resource for schools and the community. The certification obtained from this training will qualify artists to participate in the Artists in Residency program within the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District. Residencies will require a minimum commitment of one week, with flexibility for longer engagements based on project needs. Teaching artists will receive $1,500 per week, covering 20 contact hours with students, preparation, breakdown, and breaks.
Please note that there will not be a spring training session this year. This is the only opportunity for training in 2024, with additional sessions available across Alaska, though not in Anchorage.
A virtual option for this training is under consideration and will be confirmed based on available resources.
