Teacher's Day at Open Books Pilsen

Calling all teachers! We are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with a special Teacher's Day at Open Books Pilsen.
Come out with your teacher friends for an afternoon of food, drinks, networking, and resource sharing focused on supporting ELL students. We will discuss how your students (and you!) navigate barriers to accessing resources, and how you can best support your students in overcoming them. Oh, and of course, all attendees will get FREE BOOKS for your classroom library. Space is limited, so RSVP asap!

RSVPs will be open to all Chicago zip codes on September 1st!

Info: All attendees can take home 1 box (14x12x10) of books and 1 bag of 5 Spanish/Bilingual titles for their classroom libraries and giveaways.

Discussion and Raffle!
Info: Enjoy light bites and drinks during our paneled discussion. Attendees will also have a chance to win free Open Books merch and more. We'll be hearing from Brenda Robertson, Director of Education Programs at Reading in Motion, and Liliana Diaz, Speech-Language Pathologist and Founder & Owner of Bilingual Speechie. Instituto del Progreso Latino’s Career Pathways team will be in attendance with an outreach table and resources for educators. Check back in for additions to our discussion panel!
