Tea with a Jane Austen Twist

In recognition of Europe Week, the library is pleased to present an elegant and immersive Tea with a Jane Austen Twist.
Guests will enjoy a selection of British pastries from The Brit-ish Baker, a curated tea‑tasting flight, a refined craft activity, and a brief yet engaging trivia session. Trivia will be conducted individually, and the winner will receive a Jane Austen themed giftset: a bound set of three Jane Austen novels, a beautiful teapot, and the Jane Austen trivia card game. Each guest will also leave with their own tea cup, saucer, and tea spoon!
Tea Menu
• Snowbuds White Tea - Snowbuds brews to a light ecru cup with a mild, light, palate-pleasing citrus aftertaste resulting from the brewing of these gray-olive-green buds, with their slightly curled, fuzzy white tips. These brewed buds are well formed and have a fresh "after-the-rain" aroma.
• Creme de La Berry Green Tea - Delicate and delectable, you'll fall in love with this green tea blend! The tea brews to a distinctive ecru cup with a light strawberry cream taste and just a hint of chocolate.
• Jane Austen Black Tea - The delicate prose of Jane Austen's novels is evoked in this blend that combines spearmint with a gentle touch of vanilla. Lavender flowers, which look lovely in both the cup and the gardens around Jane Austen's estate, add a sweet floral taste that complements the mint and vanilla wonderfully.
Baked Goods Menu
• Rose Cardamom Shortbread - Gentle rose petals and crushed cardamom pair come together like a match made in heaven in these perfect crumb shortbread cookies.
• Lemon Posset Cups - A classic British dessert, lemon posset is similar to a custard or a pudding. It’s sweet and citrusy, and a refreshing way to end a meal!
• Mini Sticky Toffee Puddings - Rich, moist, and bursting with warm, comforting flavors. Made with tender dates and finished with a luxurious butterscotch sauce, it delivers the irresistible warm and gooey texture!
Registration is required. Please reserve your place to ensure participation in this distinguished event. Elegant dressing is welcome, but not required.
