About this Event

China produces tea in 19 of its 33 provinces and continues to lead the world in tea production. Tea culture, terroir, and techique have combined there over millennia to produce many of the finest and most varied teas choices in the world. In this session, we'll explore some of China's best teas, take a look at the culture, terroir, and technique contributing to their quality, and learn how to maximize flavor as we taste a variety of tea types: white, yellow, green, oolong, black, and dark/Pu'er. This session will include a sharing of pictures and videos from David's recent trips to China and a sample pack to enjoy at home afterwards!

David Parrish is a former educator and has been a long-time student of tea. He completed several levels of study with the Specialty Tea Institute and has qualified for the Tea Evaluator Certificate issued by the Human Resources Department in China. He is currently applying for the Tea Culture Master Certificate with Eastern Leaves, and has traveled to China to continue his tea studies. He has worked at The Cultured Cup for a number of years, where he continues to share his passion for tea.
