As summer begins to soften into the first whispers of autumn, we gather at 'Tea & Shibari' again under the theme of "Returning Home."

You are warmly invited to a special late Summer edition of Tea & Shibari on Friday night, August 28th, with Kozy, Leila, and Shibari Artists at LIMINAL in Amsterdam.
After months of expansion, movement, and outward expression, nature begins its gentle turn inward. The light changes. The pace slows. This evening is an invitation to follow that rhythm - to return home to the body, to the breath, to the heart, and to the quiet wisdom that has always been there beneath the noise.
Together, we create a space to pause before the season shifts. A moment to integrate what the summer has offered, release what no longer needs to be carried, and reconnect with yourself through beauty, presence, and ritual.
This edition features an ancient Damiana Tea Ceremony, an aromatic botanical traditionally used for centuries in ceremonial and herbal practices across Mesoamerica, including among the Maya. Gentle and grounding when served as tea, Damiana has the ability to soften the mind, awaken the senses, open the heart, and invite a subtle sense of sensual presence. Throughout the evening, it will be served within an ancient tea ceremony (rooted from China). Mild, functional, and non-psychedelic.
Like returning to a familiar place after a long journey, the evening unfolds through live Shibari performances that explore themes of intimacy, trust, surrender, and belonging.

The Journey
The evening begins with a grounding arrival through an ancient Tea Ceremony with meditation. Guided by Leila and our wonderful tea serving team, you will be offered multiple rounds of Damiana Tea. Each pour becomes an invitation to slow down, soften, and listen to what’s within. Each sip offers a gentle return to the present moment.
We then transition into the Art of Shibari, a deeply embodied practice rooted in Japan, where rope becomes a language of connection, devotion, and expression. Through the interplay of tension and surrender, structure and flow, beauty and the raw, Shibari mirrors the inner state: the delicate yet beautiful space between holding and opening.
We are honored to have 4 experienced Shibari performers, making this evening an even more rare and refined experience. Artists will share a few rounds of performances, expressions, bringing multiple layers of storytelling, intimacy, and artistry for the night.
Each performance is uniquely paired with freshly served premium tea with seasonal herbs that match the vibe, weaving together more sensations into one journey.
As the evening draws to a close, we invite the audience into a live Q&A and open sharing with the artists - a space for curiosity, reflection, and deeper connection with the practices that have been witnessed throughout the night.
