Step into an evening of music, dance, tea, and art at Tea & Tango’s NEW YEAR’S MILONGA — Saturday, Dec 27, 5:30–9:30 pm at 1680 Bryant St, Palo Alto. Featuring Bay Area’s newest tango band, Cristal & Claudio Ortega, performing live at 8pm, with DJ Charles Carbone spinning Golden Era vinyl from his personal collection starting at 5:30pm. Doors open 5:00pm. All ages welcome; no partner needed.
Meet the musicians shaping the night — Cristal, formed in 2024 by pianist Crystie Shum, joined by bandoneonist Pablo Vanwoerkom, violinist Polina Sedukh (San Francisco Symphony), bassist Chris Johnson, and vocalist Claudio Ortega, whose Buenos Aires roots bring warmth and soul to every lyric. Together they perform with dancers and listeners in mind: warm, lively, and full of heart.
Throughout the evening, enjoy authentic pu-erh tea served in traditional earthenware, light snacks, and the welcoming atmosphere of our historic heritage house dedicated to dance, meditation, and the art of flow.
