About this Event
April 26th is Independent Bookstore Day, and we're excited to present an afternoon meet-and-greet teatime with Diana R. Chambers, author of THE SECRET LIFE OF JULIA CHILD!
Did you know that before she mastered the art of French cooking in midlife, Julia Child found herself working in the secrets trade in Asia during World War II? Her journey, depicted in this book, will delight both historical fiction fans and lovers of America's most beloved chef, revealing how the war made her into the icon we know now.
Join us on the Ivy's wraparound front porch for tea and informal conversation with Diana Chambers.

USA Today bestselling author Diana R. Chambers was born with a book in one hand and a passport in the other. She studied Asian art history at university, worked at a Paris translation agency, then began an export business in India. This led to Hollywood costuming and scriptwriting, until her characters demanded their own novels. Her latest, The Secret War of Julia Child, published by Sourcebooks Landmark, is a People magazine Must-Read and a Washington Post Best Historical Fiction of 2024. She lives in NorCal and southern France.
