TCL Fashion Show Timothy Charles Lee
About this Event
Help us honor Timothy "Timmy" Charles Lee, a beautiful, 23-year-old Black and Native American gay man. He was a fashion student in SF, on track to study in Milan, Italy. He was creative and deeply loved. On November 2, 1985, Timmy missed his BART stop and ended up stranded at the Concord BART. He was later found hanging from a nearby tree. Despite the fact that two men in KKK robes stabbed two other Black men in the local area that night, the police and FBI quickly ruled Timmy’s death a suicide! For over 40 years, his family fought for justice.
In Timmy’s honor, we are holding a Commemorative Fashion Show. The purpose is to raise awareness about reopening the case as well as to celebrate his stolen dreams and the artistry he never got to finish, a career in fashion design.
This event raises funds for Rainbow Community Center* (registered 501(c)(3) non-profit). They offer critical services and they have stood by us since our first Memorial Walk. We believe Timmy could have benefited from Rainbow were he still alive. We are asking a $25 donation. No one tured away for lack of funds.
