TCCC–ASM (Tactical Combat Casualty Care – All Service Members, Tier 1)The TCCC–ASM course is a 8-hour entry-level program that introduces all service members to the fundamental principles of Tactical Combat Casualty Care. This training is designed to ensure that every member of the force—regardless of their role—has the knowledge and confidence to render lifesaving aid to themselves or others in the event of a combat injury.
Course Focus:
Designed for all service members, not just medical personnel
Teaches the essential skills required to stabilize a casualty until advanced medical care is available
Provides a strong foundation in casualty response that supports unit readiness and survivability in combat environments
Core Skills Covered:
Recognizing and controlling life-threatening bleeding with tourniquets and wound packing
Basic airway management techniques to maintain breathing in an injured casualty
Positioning and interventions to improve respiratory function
Hypothermia prevention and casualty comfort measures
Rapid casualty movement and evacuation techniques
Communication of casualty status using standardized reporting methods
Teaching Methods:
The course combines interactive classroom instruction, demonstrations, and practical skill stations. Emphasis is placed on repetition and hands-on practice, ensuring participants can confidently apply the skills under stress.
Certification:
Participants receive a Certificate of Completion recognized under the Committee on Tactical Combat Casualty Care (CoTCCC) guidelines
Training is consistent with the latest DoD TCCC standards
