Taylor & Girish are a husband-and-wife indie folk duo who make music on their own terms — honest, reflective, and free from outside expectations. Influenced by artists like Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Elliott Smith, Laura Marling, and Ben Howard, their songs are emotionally resonant and rooted in thoughtful songwriting.
They’ve been making music together for over five years, though both have been writing and performing since their teenage years. After submitting an early demo to BBC Introducing Oxford they were invited for an interview and have received regular support from the show ever since.
Their debut EP, released in October 2024, introduced their sound to a wider audience and was praised by Oxfordshire Music Scene, which wrote: “Each track is packed with emotion, tenderness but with a warmth... a fantastic selection of songs.” Since then, they’ve released a growing collection of new singles — all written, recorded, and produced by the duo, with videos and artwork also created entirely by them.
By keeping every part of the process in their own hands, Taylor & Girish maintain full creative freedom — allowing space to explore ideas intuitively and stay close to the heart of their work. These singles form part of a second EP they are currently building toward.
Taylor & Girish’s music is calm, sincere, and deeply personal — a quiet but deliberate expression of what it means to make art on your own terms.
