The band guarantees a night of great music, stories and laughter as they wend their way through hits and fan favourites in a 2 set celebration of everything Taxiride.25 years of Taxiride. Bringing their unique harmony-rich sound with multiple singers delivering their hits with great gusto and intend to celebrate their 25th anniversary in style. October 18th 1999 saw the Australian release of Taxiride’s debut album ‘Imaginate’ off the back of successful singles ‘Get Set’ and ‘Everywhere You Go’. It debuted at number 1 on the Australian Album Charts notoriously dethroning Shania Twain’s ‘Come On Over’ after it’s 20 week run at the top.
Get Set also featured on the ‘Election’ movie soundtrack and achieved Top 40 status in the United States and won the band an ARIA award back home. ‘Imaginate’ was certified double platinum and was also released throughout Europe, Asia, and North America with subsequent tours in those regions.
Taxiride’s second album ‘Garage Mahal’ debuted at number 5 and spawned the singles ‘How I Got This Way’, ‘Afterglow’ and the ubiqutous ‘Creepin’ Up Slowly’ which won PPCA’s Most Played Song & won Australian Radio award for 2002.
Taxiride now return to the touring circuit with a revitalised live show featuring the band’s hits plus a fresh take on fan and band faves alike.
